Description
I titled this "The Soft Part of the Day" because this is the time of day, before the sun has risen and there's a soft blanket across the waters of undisturbed vegetation floating on the swamps. This time of day, I've seen the Florida Panther, foxes, hawks, an alligator bowed up like it's posing for National Geographic and the specter of herons waiting silently and attentively by the water for that first ripple. This is the time of day I take Charlie and get on my bike to ride through the swamps, lakes, woods and ponds, across wonderful trails all alone except for us. It's quiet and calming and, well, softly soothing. This day, I snapped several fantastic pictures of this Great Blue Heron who took no mind of us as we stopped. I hope you can feel the magical ambiance of quiet nature. Though this is a watercolor, it is filled with texture so I could show the softness of the water. This is truly the soft part of the day - the special time of peace and tranquility if you're lucky enough to experience it.

I had to come back to this since we mentioned it on FB.. yes it would be a beautiful entry for the strawberry Festival...gosh I am willing to declare it a blue ribbon winner, a best of show.. wow.. Now I know the size too and Ed says he would be happy to make a frame for it... I agree/ a perfect compliment for the rustic beauty of your painting.
