Description
Goodbye Summer but not in Florida! My Shrimp Plant is still going strong with butterflies and hummingbirds enjoying this beautiful blooming perennial. I remember when I first moved to Florida, years ago, I saw a lady cleaning out her garden from the road as I was driving by. She had some red Shrimp Plants and from far away, I thought for sure they were Bee Balms but since I stopped and asked, she told me exactly what to buy and as a bonus, she gave me a bunch of amaryllis bulbs she was thinning!

I first came to FineartAmerica beginning of March to purchase a Wedding Gift for a very dear friend, who is being remarried, after we've both been widows (me, 13 years; her; 8, both of us under 50 when we were; our late husbands were close friends since grammar school). So, I wanted a very special gift for her & her fiance, who must be very special. I found it after setting up around 7 folders, before we found one that "speaks to her soul" & that's what I wanted for her. Now, for myself, I've also been looking (there are no time constraints for me), but this, this is a masterpiece & once we're further out from tax season I hope to be able to get this for myself. I will need to do some measuring: as my late husband always said: "measure twice, cut one"! This is in a completely different realm of beauty from what I'd viewed prior to it...marvelous - the colors & the depth you've conveyed! Karen
Lil Taylor replied:
Dear Karen, my sincere condolences on the loss od not only your husband but also a dear friend. It’s a wonderful thing you two still have each other. You’ve given me a special gift by telling me your story. Thank you. My greatest pleasure is knowing something I’ve created reaches out to touch someone’s soul. The stories I remember are ones like this and they let me know how important art is in this world. Knowing what I do touches others is why i do it. Thank you, again, Sharon. My ability to be on here has been extremely spotty and I need to start catching up. My plan is to do that as soon as I have the all-clear to head up to the mountains. I'll see what you've been doing and I'm sure it's fabulous!
