Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
In the mountains, I found this small bush which I had never seen before and can't remember the name but I bought it. This is an EXTREME close-up and if you could see the small bush from far away, not right on top of the flowers, you would just see a bunch of small, pea-sized purple, blue and pinkish balls which appear to be just floating in the air. They're so stunning that you don't even see the dark of the tiny long limbs. I just love this shrub and can't wait for it to get large!! It looks really nice against the Limelight Hydrangea.
This original (which matches "Holding On To Summer" very well is unframed and painted on cold-pressed watercolor paper,.

Lil, I am so Inspired by this painting. Those stunning blooms, colors and branches reaching out wanting to shine just like you! beautiful work!!!!!

Chrisann, I'm humbled by your sweet comments but, girlfriend, you shine above all....... :)

Thanks, Kristin and I wanted a 3 D effect as much as could be done with this one so the background is giving that wonderful glow of the stained glass. It doesn't hurt that those watercolors and that Sienna Brown isn't wonderfully rich with the touch of Pthalo Green and a little Indian Yellow.

Maybe it's just me, but this beautiful creation is reminiscent of stained glass. Just lovely, Lil.

Thank you, Bob. I may do a different version of this from directly above showing the larger purple ball flowers floating down smaller and smaller. This was just the coolest shrub ever. I'm sorry to see it die back for the season.
