Against The Wind
Artist
Lil Taylor
Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
I had an idea to paint the Dandelions because I wanted to show them very free and puffy with no particular definition but expressing the feel the little white pollens will fly away with the slightest wind. Or maybe you can remember a beautiful sunny day with a clear blue sky, crisp breeze while you were a child picking these wonderful pre-dandelions and blowing on them to make a wish! Even weeds contain a certain natural beauty, especially if you're a child where everything is a delight and nature is an adventure.

You have given us a window in the secret world of dandilions ! Beautiful! f/v
Lil Taylor replied:
Thanks so much, Cori!! It's nice to appreciate beauty even if it's considered a weed and we want to be rid of it. In a meadow, it's really nice though!

What a marvelous painting and what an outstanding visual metaphor this work can be, Lil. You make really strong, yet so delicate characters from these splendid dandelions. I see powerful, yet sensitive and vulnerable people, who stay straight in the front of the life's winds. Absolutely beautiful. F,v. _____ Ana
Lil Taylor replied:
Thank you so much, Ana and wonderful to hear from you! I love your interpretation and you could be right that subconsiously this is why I decided to paint it. Sometimes, they just come to me and I'm absolutely sure there's a reason for it, depending on what's going on in my life.

Thank you, Bob!! My thoughts exactly!! I don't know where this came from but my brain is obviously dreaming. :) Thanks, Chrisann!! I love the blues and greens too. They give a magical feel to the whole thing, I think! Ahh, the sun beaming on my face, butterflies fluttering,,,the smell of green grass and promise of a long summer - especially if you have summer vacation (which I don't lol).
Gun Legler
Really reminding of summer, love the colors and softness.
Lil Taylor replied:
Thank you, Gun! I'm not much into softness when I paint but I deviate every once in a while. Contrasts don't work on this one - it's too dreamy.
