In the Mountains

All of my watercolors are at home in Florida and I'm up here in the North Carolina mountains in a nice place called Sapphire, so named because there actually are sapphires in them thar hills. When I'm here, I take many, many pictures. My three most interesting ones I posted because, well, I wanted to share them. I need to be able to replace the ink in my printer so I can use my Tombow pens on the Spring Wagon and God Inspired photos. Each of them will work well as a small piece with very precise detail. That's what I do here as far as watercolors. Last time, I painted my best friend's home for her as a surprise wedding anniversary gift.

So, really the mountains is about spending time with family and doing a lot of soul-searching and hiking. On alternate days, I take Charlie and Jack, the Boykin Spaniels (Jack is on the left and Charlie on the right), up the loop of Whiteside Mountain, which lies halfway between Cashiers and Highlands, NC. You actually drive through a subdivision to get to the national park. Wow. Anyway, we go very early in the morning and take the long way which are like steep stairs and boulders to the top. The advantage for us over the people who just take the main trail, is well, we get a much better workout but also, the view is spectacular. Along the rim, we cover many overlooks on the way to the main one and these are actually much better for a view. As an added attraction, not many people take the loop because it's about 2.5 miles, half of it a good "buttock workout" as Gilad, my video workout trainer would say. You can see the view for yourself and the dogs are even tired.

Take a look at my photos if you will and see which you think I should do first....God Inspired or Spring Wagon. I think each has distinct possibilities.

Thanks for visiting and come back soon.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the yellow jackets in the eaves that were attacking me but that will be for another time.

Any emails or questions or even suggestions would be appreciated and encouraged! :)

Sincerely,

Lil Taylor
